How to get value (without the noise)
Use communities to calibrate, not to learn from scratch. The best question to bring is "which mocks best predicted the real exam for you?" — the crowd is genuinely useful for that. The worst is "explain reinforcement schedules," which your program and the Cooper text do more reliably.
Verify before you trust. If someone states a "fact" about a procedure or an ethics standard, check it against the 6th Edition TCO and the Ethics Code. Confident and correct aren't the same thing online.
Find accountability, not just answers. A study partner or cohort who expects to see your mock scores each week is worth more than a hundred lurked threads.
Protect your headspace. "Failed again" and "the test was nothing like the mocks" posts are real, but doom-scrolling them the week before your exam helps no one. Dip in for logistics and strategy, then step away.
One hard rule: never share live exam content
This matters ethically and practically. The BACB protects active exam items, reputable providers write their own questions modeled on the TCO, and so-called "exam dumps" (real recalled questions) are both against the rules and often wrong.
